Jørn
Eivind Schau is in his position of professor at the University of Agder
one of the most prominent teachers of the flute in Norway. He was
trained at the Royal Academy of Music in London and at "Norges
Musikkhøgskole".
He
is a frequent guest with the Norwegian symphony orchestras as well as a
participant and adjudicator at international festivals. In later years,
he has edited several new publications of flute music and is the
initiator and daily leader of the Norwegian Flute Society and Agder
University Flute Ensemble.
Lars
Asbjørnsen will be teaching at the international summer courses. A
native of Trondheim (Norway), he initially studied at «Østlandets
Musikkonservatorium» and «Folkwanghochschule» Essen before completing
his education in Paris. After serving as principal flutist with Ulm
Philharmonic Orchestra, he went on to a similar position with the
"Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest" in Amsterdam, before leaving in 1990
to concentrate on more soloistic work. As a soloist, Lars Asbjørnsen
has a wide international experience, including radio- and television
broadcasts. He has toured in Japan and the US and he has performed at
international festivals. Lars Asbjørnsen has recorded a CD of Mozart’s
concerto in G-major as well as the entire «Associated Board» repertoire
for MW-Music, London. He teaches at the Wiesbaden Academy of Music.
